A painting from my “Back in NYC” series – an artwork capturing the crumpled McDonald’s french fries container. This artwork is a tribute to the iconic fast-food culture that permeates the streets of New York City, and the ubiquitous presence of McDonald’s in urban life.
In this painting, the crumpled fries container takes center stage, its familiar golden arches logo serving as a symbol of comfort, convenience, and nostalgia for countless city dwellers and visitors alike. Yet, beneath its surface lies a deeper narrative – one of urban hustle, multiculturalism, and the shared experience of enjoying a quick meal on the go.
As I wandered through the bustling streets of NYC, I couldn’t help but be drawn to the sight of these crumpled containers, each one a testament to the transient nature of urban living and the stories they hold within. Through the lens of pop art, I sought to immortalize this everyday object, transforming it into a work of art that captures the essence of city life.
