“Back from NYC” – a captivating series of oil on canvas paintings capturing iconic symbols of American pop culture. From chip wrappers to sandwiches, fried chicken to hot dogs, and Coca-Cola cans, each artwork showcases familiar objects encountered during a journey through New York City. In this series, I draw inspiration from the principles of pop art, transforming these mass-produced, anonymous items into unique pieces of art. Through the human intervention of crumpling, wrinkling, and reducing them to discarded forms, I breathe new life into these everyday objects, inviting viewers to reconsider their significance and symbolism in our culture.
